Port Grimaud is nestled in between Ste. Maxime and St. Tropez, and is just a
short walk from Holiday Marina. This picturesque town is known as the Little Venice
of the French Riviera and was purpose designed and built on the site of a little
used marsh. It was the inspired imagination of Francois Spoerry that brought about the
construction of this village built on waterways. The Port itself is unique and provides
such an idyllic setting that many British, European and American celebrities have a
retreat here. It has its own beach that is accessible by boat or a 15 minute walk. This
sandy beach is quite secluded, does not become too crowded, and is free for anybody to use
if youre prepared to walk there. The town is illuminated by night and is very
popular for a leisurely stroll or relaxing in one of the many cafes and bars. You can sit
back and enjoy watching a game of boules whilst taking a drink and soaking up the
atmosphere. On Sunday and Thursday mornings there is a market which takes place in both
squares of the Port. You can pick up a few bargains here especially if you are buying
presents for your family and friends at home. There are electric boats for hire in Port
Grimaud to explore all the waterways leading in and around this spectacular town, or you
could take the waterbus for a tour of the yachts and villas.

A short drive will bring you to St Tropez, home of the rich and famous.
Its well worth a visit by day or night, since you can relax in one of the harbour
front bars and admire the grandeur of some of the most luxurious yachts and cruisers in
the world. The back streets are full of designer shops and there is a wide variety of
nightclubs, bars and restaurants.

A drive in the opposite direction will
bring you to Ste Maxime, a much larger town than St. Tropez, offering an assortment of
shops, clubs and restaurants. The beaches here have numerous amenities for water sports
enthusiasts, including scuba diving, water skiing, paragliding etc. |
